E3 Video: Jenova Chen's Journey
Adam Robezzoli, of the Los Angeles game culture shop Attract Mode, met with several indie game designers during last week's E3 Expo for a brief series of video interviews. Among them, Jenova Chen of ThatGameCompany has just announced Journey, his third title for the PS3's Playstation Network. The game is intended to encourage unique interactions between participants, enabled by online play taking place in a vast and mysterious desert locale.
For the video discussion, Chen shares thoughts regarding music scores in games, informed by his previous collaborations with Austin Wintory on the soundtrack for FlOw and Vincent Diamante on the interactive score for Flower. Related video content from the Game Developers Conference, where sound designer Steve Johnson spoke on his role on ThatGameCompany audio design, can be found on Vimeo under the title Sound and Music as Narrative in Flower.

Modern Warfare 2 sold over 20 million worldwide
It’s another milestone for the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Yesterday, at a pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo analysts event, Activision announced that Modern Warfare 2 has till now sold over 20 million copies across the world.
Isn’t it one more milestone for MW2?
Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Activision, said at the event that Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops will be doing more better than this, possibly.
Several times earlier Kotick had said that the CoD series has gradually become more successful with each new installment. He also mentioned that preorders of Black Ops are in fact tracking higher currently than those of MW2 when it was far out from the release date.
Call of Duty: Black Ops will hit the games market on November 9 this year.
Kotick has also set up a goal to see the company becoming “the world’s most profitable entertainment company” in 5-10 years.
